DC Family Session Location Guide | DC Family Photographer

Education
There are so many gorgeous Washington DC Family Locations, and as a local to the area, I love helping families find the perfect spot. But if you’re planning a session here and aren’t local or you’re just not sure where to start searching, finding the ideal location can be a bit of a challenge. Don’t worry, though! You can definitely do it, and I have some tips to guide you along the way.
My favorite locations for Washington DC Family Sessions

There are so many gorgeous places for photo sessions around the Washington DC. I love helping families find the perfect spot. If you’re planning a session here and aren’t local or you’re just not sure where to start searching, finding the ideal location can be a bit of a challenge.

In this blog post, I am going over some of my favorite DC family session locations.

The first step is to decide what season you want to book your session in. The great thing about the Washington, D.C. area is that we get all four seasons, and each one brings its own unique beauty. My favorite time of year to photograph is late March and early April. With the cherry blossoms in bloom at the Tidal Basin, you can’t find a more lovely spot for photographs.

Secondly, I recommend choosing a spot that has a special meaning for your family. I focus on your story as a family or couple, so finding a place with meaning always gives the session a little something extra.

What is one place that you always go back to? Where did you get married? Where did your story begin? Make a list of places that matter to you and your family.

You may even want to consider an in-home session. Home sessions are so personal and make kids feel really comfortable. Kids are usually themselves in a more comfortable environment. It’s already hard enough getting them out the door. They are kinda my favorite family session to do and I highly recommend a home session.

However, here is my location list below for Washington, D.C, Virginia, Maryland and West Virginia Family Locations. I am constantly adding to the location list as well!
