Utah Mountain Elopement

Elopements & Weddings
After the 5:30 a.m. alarm clock split the silence of my Hilton Garden Inn hotel room in Utah, I packed up my gear, rubbed the sleep from my eyes, and headed out toward Tibble Fork Reservoir. I’d always wanted to photograph a session at the breathtaking location on film to translate the magic of Alpenglow into a styled shoot.

After the 5:30 a.m. the alarm clock rang in my Hilton Garden Inn hotel room in Utah, I packed up my gear, rubbed the sleep from my eyes, and headed out toward Tibble Fork Reservoir. I’d always wanted to photograph a session at the breathtaking location on film to translate the magic of Alpenglow into a styled shoot. So, when I was finally given the opportunity even the promise of a ridiculously early morning couldn’t dampen my excitement.

As I made the 20-minute drive through American Fork Canyon in the early morning darkness American Fork Canyon, I couldn’t keep the smile off my face! This Utah Mountain Elopement was so beautiful to capture.

It was still blue hour, when I arrived. The air was frigid, but the distant mountains glowing pink in the first light of the morning took my breath away! It reminded me of a family trip we took to Switzerland when I was young. But nothing was more beautiful than my extraordinary models, Stacey & Cuauhtémo.

This beautiful pair were married at Tibble Fork Reservoir a year ago, so there was an extra bit of magic in the air as they returned to the place they said “I do.” Even though it was freezing and we had to hike through the snow, these two were such troopers.

We found a nearby creek and hiked around the water. As the sun came streaming into the trees and glittered off the snow, Stacey & Cuauhtémo glowed. Stacey’s dress, a rental from Raw + Golden Rentals, beautifully fit my vision because it was so flowy and dreamy. The little hints of gold looked striking against the snow. And all the while, the peaceful silence added another layer of beauty to the experience.

This Utah Mountain Elopement at Tibble Fork Reservoir was such an adventure I’ll never, ever forget. I can’t thank Stacey & Cuauhtémo enough for getting up so early and modeling for me, and I am so excited to share some of my favorite images with you!
