When booking an Oregon elopement photographer, it’s totally normal to be full of questions. For most people, the world of elopement photography is so foreign. Questions range from “How did you get your start in photography?” to “What will we do if it rains?” But the most common question I receive is, “How do you photograph an elopement day?”
From my style to my process, people want to know it all! And, honestly, I love sharing it with them! Helping potential clients envision their elopement day through the eyes of a photographer is so much fun! But instead of re-explaining this over and over, I figured why not put it all down in a blog post? So, here we go! Here’s how I photograph a elopement day…
In a word, I work like a photojournalist.

Known for capturing moments of authenticity without directly influencing events as they unfold, photojournalists serve as observers documenting a story. So, during your wedding or elopement day, I’ll try to be as invisible as possible, as I gravitate towards candid moments happening between you and your loved ones. I love being a part of a family for the day.
I’ve felt a tug toward a photojournalistic style because, 50 years from now, I want you to be able to look back on your wedding day exactly as it was. To relive all the laughter, tears, and overwhelming joy. To remember what your bridal bouquet smelled like and who gave you your first hug as a married couple. What if felt saying your vows on top of a mountain. And through a photojournalists lens, your day will be documented in such a way that all this is possible!
Beyond that, I also bring a sense of calm to every elopement I photograph. Weddings & elopements can be so stressful and chaotic, but your photography doesn’t have to be!
During emotional moments, I’ll quietly observe. During portraits, I’ll calmly and expertly direct. This way, you’ll also feel confident, comfortable, and cared for. And when you feel most at ease, that is when you’ll come alive in front of the camera. I love being a Oregon Elopement Photographer!
I look forward to sharing more about my client experience with you! So, if you’re ready to book or just curious to learn more, send an inquiry my way! So excited to hear from you!
