Colorado Road Trip during a Pandemic

Personal
And it was mind-blowingly beautiful! In the middle of the wildest year, the park was filled with so much peace. And the opportunity to watch the sunset on top of Rocky Mountain National Park lookout points was something I’ll never, ever forget.

In June 2020, I took a road trip from Washington, D.C. to Colorado with my boyfriend, Brett, and cousin, Meleny. After two days of driving, just when I was about to lose it from being stuck inside a car, we finally made it to Estes Park, CO! The hours and hours we’d spent driving were all immediately worth it when we reached the Rocky Mountains. If you’ve ever been, you know exactly what I mean!

While visiting Rocky Mountain National Park which was a little bit different during a pandemic (we had to reserve a timed entry, for example), there were still a lot of visitors in the park. And it was mind-blowingly beautiful! In the middle of the wildest year, the park was filled with so much peace. And the opportunity to watch the sunset on top of Rocky Mountain National Park lookout points was something I’ll never, ever forget.

As our time in Colorado came to a close, we decided to drive to Moab, UT, since it’s only a 5-hour drive from Estes Park. I’ve honestly never seen anything like it! Exploring Moab felt like we’d been transported to a different world, and Arches National Park was definitely the highlight of the journey.

I can’t wait to go back to Colorado and Utah in 2021 for elopements and another Road trip!
