Butterbee Farm Elopement, Baltimore Maryland
This dreamy elopement at Butterbee Flower Farm, we wanted to highlight the natural, organic beauty of flowers and outdoor space. While creating elegance and romance through dreamy personal details. Butterbee farm is a gorgeous garden space in Baltimore, Maryland for an elopement.
Butterbee Flower Farm is located just outside Baltimore city and has four acres of rolling fields and green houses. The vast fields surrounding the picnic in all directions made it perfect for an elopement – private and beautiful.
Darling & Daughters made us a huge bouquet which was truly the star of the day. This was even more special since the flowers were sourced from Butterbee Farm. Early Fall was the perfect time for this shoot. We were in love with the color palette of this time of year as the flowers were mostly peach, coral, and blush and Dahlias were in peak bloom.
Knowing our main focus was the peach, coral and blush flowers, we decided to go with a light blue for the linens and cake. Since blue is the complementary color of orange, it really made the flowers pop. Afterall, how could the flowers not be the focal point when you’re on a flower farm? We pulled decor inspiration from the natural beauty of the fields and flowers on the farm.
The textures of the cream colored blanket, hand dyed cheesecloth in a light blue-violet which matched the oversized striped pillows, wood crates with dark staining to add contrast, gold candles and flatware to add a pop of shine and texture as well as a little bit of glam. With a picnic we didn’t want it to look like it was thrown together at the last minute – instead we wanted to create a truly romantic moment.
The light blue invitations continued our color palette. The flowers featured on the invitation were a periwinkle blue-violet which matched the cheesecloth and large striped oversized pillow. The gold leaves woven throughout the flowers on the stationary picked up on the accents we used in the picnic with the flatware and candles. The invitations where floral with a romantic theme.
Cakebee created a beautiful two-tiered drapery style cake. We love this style since it picked up on the flow of the dress and continued the romantic aesthetic. We decided to use real flowers on the cake (since flowers are the star of the day) and light blue base.
With so many couples struggling to deal with the unexpected changes around COVID-19, we wanted to show how simple and romantic an elopement can be. Couples still have the ability to celebrate their love in a beautiful and special way that will create memories for years to come. This elopementElopements styled shoot and hope that we can inspire couples to create their own nostalgic & dreamy elopement!
