The Best Wedding Venues in Washington, D.C.
I have been working in Washington DC as a wedding photographer for over 5+ years. I have photographed at so many beautiful DC Wedding Venues. In this blog, I will list a few personal recommendations for the Best Wedding Venues in DC. There are so many beautiful venues in Washington DC that it can be a little overwhelming at times. However, hopefully this list gives you some inspiration and gets you excited about finding the perfect venue for you and your partner. I am so excited to share this list with you.
Here are some of my favorite venues in Washington, D.C…
- The Line DC
The Line DC is one magical hotel and wedding venue. It is filled with a gorgeous bar and restaurant right when you walk into the venue. Upstairs is a gorgeous seating area for guests. There are endless places for wedding portraits. Here is a wedding that I recently did at The Line DC.
2. St. Regis Hotel
The St. Regis Hotel is one of the most beautiful venues in Washington, D.C. It is filled with beautiful windows and a gorgeous ceremony space. I have photographed one wedding here and it’s such an iconic DC wedding venue.
3. DC War Memorial
Oh the DC War Memorial is such a timeless and classic ceremony space in Washington, D.C. I have photographed over 10+ elopements at the DC War Memorial and I never get tired of this space. If you are looking for the classic DC white columns, this is one of the best spots in Washington, D.C. to have your wedding.

4. The National Gallery of Art
The National Gallery of Art is one of the most beautiful museums in Washington, D.C. There are so many different backdrops and locations for photos. My favorite spot for photos is in the underground light tunnel that connects the East and West buildings. The photo below is from an engagement session that I recently did at the National Gallery of Art. There are endless spots for ceremony spots.
5. The Dumbarton House
The Dumbarton House is one of the best wedding venues in Washington DC. I have shot here over 6+ times and I never get tired shooting at this beautiful venue. There are so many unique spots for wedding photos and it’s so so gorgeous.
6. St. Francis Hall
St. Francis Hall is absolutely stunning wedding venue. It is filled with high ceilings and a beautiful outdoor space for couple photos. St. Francis Hall is located in the Brookland neighborhood. Firstly, this wedding venue can have over 250+ people in the space. I am so excited to shoot a wedding here in January.

7. District Winery
District Winery is such a different Washington, DC wedding venue. It has two floors and a balcony that overlooks the Potomac River. There are so many cute spots for wedding photos inside the venue and outside. I highly recommend getting married at District Winery!
8. The Reach
The Reach is such a hidden gem in Washington, D.C. I always recommend this location to my couples, especially for engagement sessions. It is such a unique wedding venue, filled with modern architecture and gorgeous wedding backdrops. I am a little biased because I used to work at The Kennedy Center. However, I highly recommend this gorgeous venue.
9. The Lincoln or Tidal Basin
These Washington DC monuments are some of my favorite locations for a ceremony or a wedding. This is such a staple of Washington DC and you can’t really go wrong with this choice. However, for these locations a permit is required through the National Park Service. I require all my couples to get permits through the National Park Service. The process can take around 4-6 weeks so starting early to get the permit the better.
